How to Create your charts ? |
There are two ways you can create charts using Microsoft Graph.
1) Inserting a new chart placeholder and then double clicking on the placeholder.
2) Inserting a chart with the correct chart type directly.
3) Creating your chart in Excel and copying it across.
The chart will default to the correct formatting regardless of which method you use.
When a chart is activated the menu bar will change automatically to the Microsoft Graph menu. |
1) Using a Chart Placeholder |
You can insert a chart by double clicking on the chart placeholder.
The advantage of working with the chart placeholders is that you can plan your presentation before you actually need to create the final charts.
The chart will be activated and the data sheet will be displayed.
If the chart placeholder is not in a valid position then you will not be able to insert a chart. |
|
2) Inserting a Chart directly |
It is also possible to create a chart and insert it directly onto a slide.
Use the left drop-down box to select the size of the chart you want to create.
You can then use the Options drop-down menu to select the chart type you want to create. |
|
3) Creating your chart in Excel |
Using Microsoft Graph within PowerPoint will not guarantee you the consistency you are looking for. |
It is also possible to quickly create your charts in Excel and copy then copy them across as pictures. |
|
Pasting your charts as pictures also has the other advantage of helping to reduce the overall file size for large presentations. |
