Your existing Presentations |
Converting your existing presentations to the new template is extremely easy.
These steps are identical regardless of the actual format and will work for all types of formatting.
1) Open your existing presentation.
2) Create a new presentation title slide using the new Template Wizard toolbar.
3) Copy all the slides (except the title slide) into the new presentation.
4) Redefine all your textboxes, charts and other objects.
Lets consider a simple example. |
Step 1 - Open your existing presentation |
For this example we have used PowerPoint's default template. |

It is possible to modify your existing presentations so they are compatible with the new template.
Any old presentations must have all their slides copied and pasted into a new presentation. |
Step 3 - Copy all the slides across |
Use the Window drop-down menu to select your existing presentation.
Select (View > Slide Sorter) and copy all the slides from your existing presentation.
Once the presentation has been copied to a new file the contents of each slide can be resized and repositioned. |

Step 4 - Redefine your textboxes and other objects |
Existing textboxes have to be re-defined as new text placeholders.
This is very simple to do and just involves selecting the existing textboxes and selecting the corresponding placeholders from the left drop-down menu.
First we need to redefine the slide title. Select the slide title textbox.
Select "Slide - Title" in the left drop-down box. This will define the textbox accordingly.
The correct formatting will be applied and the textbox will also be positioned in the right place automatically. |
|
We now need to redefine the main slide text. Select the slide text textbox.
Select “Slide-Text” in the left drop-down box. This will define the textbox accordingly.
The correct formatting will be applied and the textbox will also be positioned in the right place automatically. |
|
We can redefine the slide title for the next slide in exactly the same way we did for the first slide.
We now need to redefine the left and right text placeholders on the next slide in exactly the same way.
Select the textbox on the left of the slide and select “Slide-Text (Left)” in the left drop-down box.
The correct formatting will be applied and the textbox will also be positioned in the right place automatically. |
|
Select the textbox on the left of the slide and select “Slide-Text (Right)” in the left drop-down box.
The correct formatting will be applied and the textbox will also be positioned in the right place automatically. |
|
We now need to convert our chart to the correct new company format.
Using Microsoft Graph within PowerPoint sometimes does not guarantee you the consistency you are looking for. |
Converting your PowerPoint charts to Excel charts is very simple and just involves copying the data from the data sheet to a worksheet. |
|
Select the chart you want to convert and double click it to display the Data Sheet.
Select the cells in the datasheet and copy and paste this data into an Excel worksheet. |
|
This chart can then be easily created, resized, formatted and then copied using the Chart Doctor toolbar into PowerPoint.
Using the PowerPoint Chart Format Toolbar your chart can then be positioned in the correct place on the slide. |
