A few of the menu commands change if you hold down the Shift key while selecting a menu item from the Menu Bar.

 

 

(File > Close All)

 
 

If you hold down Shift you can press (File > Close All) instead of (File > Close).

 
   

 

(Edit > Copy Picture)

 
 

If you hold down Shift you can press (Edit > Copy Picture) instead of (Edit > Copy).

 
   

 

(Edit > Paste Picture)

 
 

If you hold down Shift you can press (Edit > Paste Picture) instead of (Edit > Paste).

 
   

 

(Edit > Paste Picture Link)

 
 

If you hold down Shift you can press (Edit > Paste Picture Link) instead of (Edit > Paste Special). This allows you to create linked pictures. This is useful if you want to print a non-contiguous selection of cells onto a single page.

 
   

 

(File > Open) or (File > Save)

 
 
  • If you hold down Shift and press the (File > Open) icon on the Standard toolbar it will perform (File > Save).

     
     
  • If you hold down Shift and press the (File > Save) icon on the Standard toolbar it will perform (File > Open) and display the Open dialog box.
