Searching for Files |
You can use Windows Explorer to browse between folders and to find particular files. | ||
You can also use find files using any of the following: |
Basic File Search Task Pane | |||

Basic File Search Task Pane |
This can be used to find files: | ||
1) containing various words or phrases in the file names and actual content | ||
2) located on your computer or on shared networks. | ||
You can display the Basic File Search task pane by selecting (File > File Search). |

You can use multiple clicks in the search in drop-down to select what you want. | ||
By default this task pane will display the last search you performed. |
Advanced File Search Task Pane |
This can be used to find files: | ||
1) by searching in the File Properties | ||
2) in specific locations | ||
3) that are specific file types. | ||
You can display the Advanced File Search task pane by clicking on the Advanced File Search link at the bottom of the Basic File Search task pane. |

File Search Dialog |
This dialog box offers the same functionality as the two task panes. | ||
You can display the File Search dialog box from inside the (File > Open) dialog box. | ||
In the Open dialog box choose (Tools > Search). |
