What are Smart Tags ? |
SmartTags provide a way to recognise data types into cells an having special signatures.
For example starting in Excel 2002 you can recognise stock market abbreviations such as MSFT for Microsoft Corporation.
When this item is found a small tag is displayed that contains a popup menu.
This menu can then be used to obtain related information such as the latest stock price or a summary report.
Microsoft even provides a toolkit that allows developers to create their own smart tags. |
