(Edit tab, Password protection) - Presentations that are password protected in PowerPoint 2002 cannot be opened in earlier versions of PowerPoint, which did not support password protection.

 
 

(Security tab, Password to open) - If you type a password in the Password to open box, the presentation will open when the user types the correct password.

 
 

(Security tab, Password to modify) - Type a password here if you want to allow users to view a presentation, but require a password to edit the presentation
