Promoting a Paragraph |
To promote a paragraph means to move it up one level in the outline |
1) Using the Promote button | ||
2) Dragging the paragraph with the mouse | ||
3) Pressing (Shift + Tab) | ||
4) Using the shortcut key (Alt + Shift + Left Arrow) | ||
You can promote a paragraph by placing the cursor anywhere in the paragraph and pressing (Shift + Tab) or by pressing the Promote button the Outlining toolbar |
Promote - Moves the selected paragraph to the next-higher heading level (up one level, to the left). |
Using the mouse. This can be a bit tricky. | ||
The mouse pointer should change from a single arrow to a four cornered arrow |
Demoting a Paragraph |
To demote a paragraph is to move it down a level. | ||
1) Using the Demote button | ||
2) Pressing (Tab) | ||
3) Dragging the paragraph with the mouse | ||
4) Using the shortcut key (Alt + Shift + Right Arrow) |
Demote - Moves the selected paragraph to the next-lower heading level (down one level, to the right). |
Things to Remember |
You cannot promote a slide title | |||
Promoting an existing paragraph to the highest level will split the slide in two. |
