Grouping Objects

You can group a set of objects.

Hold down the Shift key and click each object in turn.

Then select (Draw > Group).

Once you have combined a number of separate objects you should consider grouping them.

Grouped objects behave as if they were one object which can be useful for moving, resizing or copying.

To group objects, hold down the Shift key to select them and select (Draw > Group).

You might want to edit a group of objects and treat it like a single object.

This can be done by creating a group

Select all the objects you want to group together

Display the Drawing toolbar

Select (Draw > Group)

Now any operation performed on an object in the group will also be performed on all the other members.

Ungrouping Objects

Click on the object you want to ungroup

You can ungroup the object later by selecting (Draw > Ungroup)

You may find that all the objects within the group have not been ungrouped.

This is because some of the objects are actually groups of objects so you may have to ungroup them further.

Repeat this process until all the objects have been ungrouped.

By creating a group you can use a single object to represent a group of individual objects

This allows you to move and change all the objects in the group in a single operation.

Select the first object and hold down the shift key while selecting additional objects, choose (Draw > Group)

Only one set of selection handles surrounds all the objects in the group

You might find it easier to use the shortcut menu to group and ungroup objects.

Regrouping Objects

After you have ungrouped objects you don’t have to reselect them again using the Shift and click method.

just select (Draw > Regroup)
