Text Placeholders have an AutoFit feature that is enabled by default. | ||
If you type more text than will actually fit in a placeholder PowerPoint will automatically display the AutoFit Options smart tag. | ||
Check your (Tools > AutoCorrect Options)(AutoFormat as you type tab) to change these options. |

SmartTag is Always Displayed |
There is no way to prevent the AutoFit Options smart tag from being displayed. | ||
If you choose to switch both these options off you will still get the AutoCorrect Options smart tag displayed. | ||
The following option (Tools > AutoCorrect Options)(AutoCorrect tab, "Show AutoCorrect Options buttons") does not affect this smart tag. |
