How to Format AutoShapes ?

 
 

You can double click an AutoShape to display the formatting options.

 
 

You can add text to an Autoshape by right mouse clicking the AutoShape and selecting "Add Text" from the shortcut menu.

 
 

You can add text to any AutoShapes except Lines, Connectors and Freeform. You will just have to add a text box near it.

 
 

You can apply drop shadows, text or 3D effects to any shape.

 

 

Fill Color Toolbar

 
 

The Line Color command on the Drawing toolbar lets you quickly change the colour of the lines.

The Line Color command on the Drawing toolbar lets you quickly change the colour of the lines.

 
 

 Line Color - Allows you to change the line colours of your lines arrows and outlines.

 
 

The Line Color drop-down menu is actually a tear off toolbar and can be treated like a toolbar.

Adding Shadows

 
 

Click on the shadow button

 
 

Select the button called Shadow Settings

 
 

when the shadow settings toolbar appears choose the semi-transparent shadow from the drop-down

 


 

click More Shadows Colors

 
 

There is also a button that lets you "nudge" the shadow !!

 
 

Add an oval from the Drawing toolbar

 

 

Snap

 
 

Snap to Grid - When Snap To Grid is turned on as you drag or draw an object or AutoShape, the object is pulled into alignment with the nearest intersection of gridlines on the invisible drawing grid. (In Microsoft Excel, the object aligns with the cell boundaries.)

 
 

Snap to Shape - Automatically aligns objects with gridlines that go through the vertical and horizontal edges of other shapes in the active file.

After you have selected an Autoshape the cursor should change to a small cross.

 
 

Can you start typing, or do you have to add a textbox ??

 

 

You can use the Free Rotate to rotate an autoshape.
