To place something on the clipboard to be pasted later, press (Ctrl + F3) instead of (Ctrl + X) or (Ctrl + C). This will place the item on the Spike. To paste the contents of the Spike press (Ctrl + Shift F3)

 
 

If you have several documents opened at once, each document has a separate Undo functionality associated with it

 
 

When you move through a document rapidly using the vertical scrollbar a Scroll Tip is displayed showing the page number you have scrolled to. It will also display the headings if you have used the standard heading styles.

 
 

Instead of always browsing to your directories in order to find files, use the list of most recently used files located at the bottom of your (File) menu. Just click the filename to open the file.

 
 

You can quickly insert an old Word document into a existing Word document (Insert > File)

 
 

If you use any of the shortcut keys to move around your document, holding down the Shift key when you use them will select the text from the current cursor position to where the shortcut takes you.

 

 

The Undo facility will undo a maximum of 100 changes (which is a maximum of 2,417 operations)

 
 

Pressing F4 will repeat the last action, although this will only repeat your last complete action. If you need to copy detailed formatting then use the Format painter. Pressing F4 is nice and quick if you want to retype text or apply table shading or borders.
