Step 4 - Web Layout View |
Displays the page width, text position and format as the document would appear in a browser. | ||

Useful to display a page which you will display on a website. |
Step 5 - Print Layout View |
This shows you how the document will look when it is printed. | ||
The only view that displays everything. | ||
Displays the document as it will appear in print, with text formatting, graphics, headers and footers, columns and all special elements. | ||
Useful when you are proof reading a document and checking the design layout and text formatting before printing. |
Step 6 - Outline View |
Displays just the headings and subheadings in a document, providing organisation structure. | ||
Useful when you are reorganising the content or moving sections etc. |
Step 7 - Reading Layout View |
This was added in Word 2003. | ||
You can make this the default view by selecting (Tools > Options)(General tab, "Allow starting in Reading Layout"). | ||
Shows the document in full-page view enabling you to navigate through the document by clicking on the thumbnail images displayed on the left. | ||
You can display multiple pages at the same time. |
Document Map |
Displays the document in two frames. | ||
The left frame contains the headings you can use to navigate | ||
The right frame contains the actual text | ||
Useful when you want to move through a document quickly, checking headings and the correspnding sections. |
Full Screen ? |
Displays the editing window of your document in full screen view | ||
without any toolbars, rulers | ||
Useful for viewing th maximum workspace available on the screen. |
