Sequences

Each number in a sequence is called a term.
A sequence which increases or decreases by the same amount each time is called a linear sequence.
Non-linear sequences increase or decrease by different amounts each time.

1) What is a Arithmetic Sequence ?
This is a sequence of numbers (or shapes) when the rule is adding or subtracting the same number every time.

2) What is a Geometric Sequence ?
This is a sequence of numbers (or shapes) when the rule is multiplying or dividing by the same number every time.

3) What is a Quadratic Sequence ?
This is a sequence of numbers when the rule is based on the second difference and is adding or subtracting the same number every time.
This is best explained with an example.

4) What is the Fibonacci Sequence ?
This is a sequence of numbers when the rule is adding the two previous numbers.

5) Are there lots of different types of Fibonacci sequences ?
The most common Fibonacci sequence starts with 0, 1, 1, 2
You can have other sequences as long at the following formula holds
